Kokushikai Judo Camp

General Information
Class participation and participation in any sanctioned judo tournament requires individual membership in a Judo organization.  Performance Judo Academy is a registered club of Hudson Judo Yudanshakai which is affiliated with US Judo Federation (USJF).  Individual membership fee is $50, which includes supplemental insurance and is good for one year from the date of application.  This form must be sent in.

Those of you who already have cards, just check the expiration date to be sure you are current.  If you do not have a card, download the PDF form to the right and send it in with your fee.  Any questions with the application, ask Celita.

2008 Morris Cup, Burnt Hills, NY

Junior, Senior, Men's novice and Master categories are offered.  Cash prize money is given to the winners of the senior elite divisions.

2008 High School National Championships
Friday-Saturday, May 16-17, 2008
2008 High School National Judo Championships, Kahuku, Hawaii
This is the USJF High School National tournament. Participants must be born 1989 or later to be elibible. More weight categories are offered (10) for both Male and Female. Novice divisions in all weight categories in Nikyu and below without armbars or chokes. Regular competition (IJF rules) for Ikkyu and above.

AM-CAN International Tournament, Amherst, NY
Tournament location is at the American/Canadian boarder held at the University of Buffalo. This is a large tournament with categories offered for novice and master divisions as well.

Rank Promotion Requirements
Rank Promotion Requirements are posted in documents on the right.  Members will be tested for Yellow, Green and 3rd degree (Sankyu) Brown Belts.  Nikyu (2nd degree brown), Ikkyu (1st degree brown), Shodan (1st degree black) and up will be at the discretion of Head Instructor, Celita Schutz and Technical Advisor, Sensei Matsumura.  Members will be informed when they are eligible for promotion based upon attendance record, sincere effort to improve, class etiquette and willingness to help others.  Individuals wishing to attain higher rank should strive to embody the Academy Principles (see below). Competition performance is always considered in promotion review but is not mandatory.  All individuals must have USJF cards current for promotion.
